Characters in the Storybook of Walmart

When a Saturday ends up feeling like a Sunday because you went to the temple open house and then immediately came home and became Domestic Debbie by making soft pretzels, frosting for brownies and cooking dinner all at the same time how do you make it go back to feeling like a Saturday? Going to Walmart perhaps? Spotting storybook characters there as well?

I perused the fruit display of the market as a humble peasant of the land of Walmart. The strawberries were looking lovely but that's not what I was in square for. I was there accompanying a fellow housemate because it is bad taboo to go to the market square on your own.

Since I wasn't interested in the produce I scanned over the groups of individuals milling about. Young children hanging on the legs of their mother's. Married couples discussing the quality of produce this land had to offer. When suddenly, shuffling through the doors and past the watermelon booth came an old lady; a permanent scowl upon her face; a long tangle of bushy silver and grey hair; piercing eyes that looked straight into the soul; a deep purple jacket. She looked like she walked right out of a fairytale. I decided she lived in the fairytale house on 900 N and was a witch who made all sorts of potions with the ingredients sitting on the windowsills. Her pet was the black cat who hung around campus crossing student's paths.

I was going to follow her, but she disappeared within the aisles, proving to my imaginings who she was.

With the end of that story, I jumped into another story. This one involved the white sails of the sea and the moccasins of the New Land. A double character, who was confused as to what story he belonged to. Or perhaps he was just conflicted as to who he wanted to be in Neverland. An Indian and on the side of Peter Pan? Or a pirate aboard the Jolly Roger accompanying Captain Hook? I'll never know which one he chose, the tri-corner hat and satchel? Or the fringed deerskin pants and moccasins?

Perhaps he was going to meet with the witch to help him decide?
